Best of Week 4

On Friday- after four days of enjoyment, power-packed performances, and drama, we take the audience through a Reality episode which delves into the unseen footage and the behind-the-scenes of the show. This episode completely focuses on the emotions of the past 4 days that the Saas` and Bahus went through their performances and the `tu tu main main` that they have had with each other. WEEK 4 EPISODE 16

Tension in the air

The episode began with tension in the air as the saases were still leading by the end of 3 days with 21 points (as in the ep 13 one of their performances was given zero points)and today is the elimination day. Thursdays have two performances by each contestant – a duplet with their respective saas or bahu and a triplet with their respective team members (three Saases together and three Bahus together).

Aag aur Sholay

The pairs danced on dancing numbers – Vaishnavi and Jaswir danced on Dola re, Saumya and Kruttika danced on Tauba Tauba and Seema and Preeti danced on Kaanta Laga. For the group performances keeping in mind the theme the bahus performed together on hot and happening track Mehbooba Mehbooba from Sholay and saases performed on newer Mehbooba Mehbooba from Ramgopal Verma ki aag’.

The Saases won

The saases gave tough competition to the bahus this week, & with the margin being so large it was difficult for the bahus to cover up the gap. Finally, the saases won this week with 288 points and bahus lost by 33 points, they were on 255.

WEEK 4 EPISODE 15

Generation leap

The episode had duet performances where in the saas and bahu dance with their respective onscreen family help. The episode penned with Karan dressed as an old man saying that saasvsbahu had taken a generation leap, which further led into a discussion on whether serials should or should not have these generation leaps.

The performances

The performances were – Seema and Avinash danced on Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Preeti and Vibha danced on Ban Than Chali, Krutika & Ravee on Le gayee Le gayee and Saumya & Manoj danced on Oonchi Hai Building, Vaishnavi & Suhasi danced on Chamma Chamma, Jasveer & Nisha danced on Race Saason ki.

Gap Increased

At the end of all the performances the saases were 74 and bahus were 69, but the cumulative score for the three days (mon-tues-wed), saases were still leading on 191 and bahus were on 170.The pressure was building on the bahus team & the competition was getting very heated as the gap had increased upto 21.

WEEK 4 EPISODE 14

saathi-rishtedaar

The saases and bahus on 2nd day of the week have the liberty of taking help from on screen relatives, who dance on their behalf, which is the format of the show on every tuesday. The points scored by the family helps’ are added to the saas or bahu they are representing.So in todays episode, keeping with the theme the saases’ & bahu’s saathi-rishtedaar (family friend) danced on hot peppy songs.

The performances

Suhasi Goradia from Vaishnavi’s khema (team) performed on Yeh Ishq haye,Nisha Sareen from Javeer’s khema (team) danced on Deedar De, Avinash from Seema Kapoor’s khema danced on main Aaya tere liye,Vibha from Preeti Puri’s khema danced on Maar dala, Ravee Gupta from Krutika’s khema danced on Naughty Naughty and lastly Manoje Bidwai from Sowmya’s khema danced on Dard-e-disco.

saases still lead

At the end of all the performances the saases were at 56 and bahus scored 65 each, but the cumulative score for the two days (mon-tues), saases were still leading on 117 and bahus were on 101.

WEEK 4 EPISODE 13

Longi put his money on saases

The episode began with pressure on saases, because in week 3 the bahus rocked the dance floor and won with a decent margin. The theme for this week was ‘Garam Masala’, wherein today the saases and bahus danced on hot dancing numbers. In the beginning of the episode, Longi put his money on saases and aruna was neutral.

Lots of action & drama

The opening performance was by Krutika Desai on Shakalaka Baby, which was appreciated by both the judges. This performance set the episode in high spirits and was followed by some good and some average performances of Sowmya on Zara Zara touch me, Seema Kapoor on Bichooda-Bichooda, Preeti who was nervous before the performance read out the letter, she had written for Arunaji.Preeti performed on Kahin aag lage lag jaaye,Vaishnavi on Raat Baaki, Jasvir who was performing on Kambakht Ishq had to cut after 15 sec. of her performance as she had got a cramp in her knee. Judges gave Jasvir another chance after deciding mutually & listening to the contestants. She was given no marks for her performance as, after seeing her dancing Judges couldn’t believe she was hurt in the knee.

And Finally

The episode ended with a huge gap of 25 points, saases leading by 25 points on 61 and bahus were on 36.

Best of Week 3

WEEK 3 EPISODE 12

Tension in the air

The episode started with tension in the air as the saas team had the fear of getting eliminated as bahu’s were leading by 4 points.

Tashan shuru

The episode was filled with high energy and fun filled performances like Say na say na by Shoma Anand and Rucha Gujrati and Bumbro Bumbro by Himani And Lataa. Judges loved Kitu Kidwani and daljit in their sensuous performance on Namak Ishq ka. The saas and bahu were totally ready to give tashan to each other in their last face off performance. Bahu team rocked on Dhoom machaley whereas saas team danced gracefully on dhoom tanna.

Score time

After the power packed 4 days of non stop dance, drama and action it was bahu team who qualified for quarter finals.

WEEK 3 EPISODE 11

All set for a fair fight

The episode had duet performances where the Saas and Bahu dance with their respective reel family help. The contestants were fully charged to give in their best.

Check out what you missed

The performance started by Shoma Anand and Bhanujit Sudan who danced on `Ae meri zohrajabi`, the dance had more of expressions than movements. Next were Rucha and Mehul who performed on `Bunty aur bubbly` and Kitu and Sachin on `Main toh raste se jaa raha thhha`. Lataa and Monaz took the judges by surprise by their high energy performance on `Sakki Sakki` whereas Himani and Resham failed to impress the judges on their song `Oye oye` by scoring just 19 points. Daljit and Shalin tried some of the salsa moves on the song `Banda yeh Bindas hain` which got them 22 points.

Score time

The total scores on Wednesday of saas team was 62 and bahu team was 67. the cumulative scores after adding 3 days scores was bahu team on 199 and saas team on 195.

WEEK 3 EPISODE 10

Family Bonding

The 6 primary contestants get their family to help them dance on behalf of them, as per the format of the show. This episode witnessed some rocking performances by the relatives who had come in to help the six contestants. The points scored by the family are added on to the total team scores.

Rocking performance

The episode saw some rocking performance like `Dhoom Again` by Shalin Bhanot and `Jee karda` by Sachin Sharma who had come to help Daljit and Kitu Gidwani respectively which left the audience wanting more. There was some high energy performances by Monaz on `Yai re` and Bhanujit on `Dil vich lagiya ve`. Resham Tipnis was one of the highest scorers getting 2 for her sizzling perf on `Ishq Kamina`. But a good dancer like Mehul who danced on `Krazzy 4`, was criticized by judges for removing his shirt at the end of his act.

Interesting incidents that laced the show

Himani calls Karan `James bond ke Uncle`. Bahus react and make Saas realize the age factor. Himani reacts by saying `Yeh Budhapa nahi, Jawani hai`. Karan tries to create a family feud by asking Daljit why she left Sachin. Arunaji loved Resham`s performance and asks ‘Pillar hai ya Khamba?’. Longi found her performance bold and her expressions perfect. Arunaji comments on Mehul taking off his ganji. Longi said the show is not a striptease, and that one need not remove one`s dress to show off ones physique.

Score time

At the end of the day, the Bahu team was lagging behind by 3 points, After adding scores from Monday cumulative scoresare Bahu team at 132 and the Saas team at 133 .

WEEK 3 EPISODE 9

Much pressure on Bahus

The episode began with pressure on Bahus, because in week 2 the saases rocked the dance floor and won the round. Unfortunately the Bahu team was eliminated. The episode saw myriad performances which set the dance floor on fire like Kitu Gidwani dancing on `Aa tayar hoja` and Himani Shivpuri taking the audience and judges by surprise on her performance on `Dupatta Baimaan re`. Some of the other performers were Lataa Saberwal, Shoma Anand who also did Pretty well. On the other hand Daljit Kaur who looked extremely cute in her school girl look was told that she needs to improve her dancing skills immensely.

Show stealer

The Show stealer was definitely Rucha Gujrati with her power packed sensuous performance on `yeh raat` – who scored the highest points (25) for the day. By the end of the episode, the competition was neck to neck with bahus leading by 2 points on 63 and Saases were 61.

Best of Week 2

WEEK 2 EPISODE 8

Tension is in the air

The episode began much tension as the Saas` were still leading by the end of 3 days with 3 points and today is the elimination day. They rocked

The pairs danced on remix numbers - Kamaleeka and Shilpa danced on `Babuji`, Jayti and Chavvi danced on `Kabhi aar kabhi paar` and Amita and Prriya danced on `Lekar pehla pehla pyaar.` For the group performances keeping in mind the theme the Saas` performed on an old number `Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba` and Bahus on a new number `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.`

The competition was really tough this week, with the margin being minimal and both teams being equally strong. Finally the result was a very close call. The Saas team won this week with 262 points and Bahus lost by 1 point, they were on 261.

WEEK 2 EPISODE 7

'Mera Wala Zamana' - Twisted Tale

The episode had duet performances where in the saas and bahu dance with their respective reel family help. Though today the theme ‘mera wala zamana’ was changed slightly, today the bahus danced on old iconic numbers with their partners and the saases danced on new popular numbers with their partners.

Mind Blowing Performances

The performances were - Shilpa and Naman danced on Bol Baby Bol, Kamaleeka and Chetan danced on Aa Aa Ashiqui, Amita and Salill danced on Jimmi Jimmi, Prriya and Shubhangi danced on Sharara Sharara, Chavvi and Aman danced on Jhumma Jhumma and Jayati and Sanjit danced on Pyaar ka Signal.

Finally

At the end of all the performances the saases were 65 and bahus were 64, but the cumulative score for the three days (mon-tues-wed), saases were still leading on 191 and bahus were on 188. The competition was getting very heated, as the margin is not much between the two teams.

WEEK 2 EPISODE 6

Family Round

The Saas` and Bahus on 2nd day of Week 2 have the liberty of taking help from reel family friends, who dance on their behalf which is the format of the show on every Tuesday. The points scored by the family helps are added to the Saas or Bahu they are representing.

A tie

Chetan Hansraj from Kamaleeka’s khema (team) danced on P`ag Ghunghroo`, Sanjit Bedi from Jayati’s khema danced on `Dil Lena Khel hai`, Aman Yatan Verma from Chavvi’s khema danced on `Billo Rani`, Shubhangi Atrey from Prriya’s khema danced on `Salaam-e-ishq` and Salil Acharya from Amita’s khema danced on `You are my Love`. At the end of all the performances the Saas` and Bahus had equal points, but the cumulative score for the two days (Mon-Tues), Saas` were still leading with 126 and bahus were on 124.

What set the stage on fire?

Salil Acharya`s (from Amita’s team) performance on `You are my love`, Naman Shaw`s on a very popular number of Shahid Kapoor`s –`Kismat Konnection`. Judges felt Sanjeet`s performance was filled with energy and they loved the drama. Not a dancer but an amazing performer, fantastic entertainaer, zabardast fankar and more.

Longi appreciated Aman. Arunaji felt he had performed very well throughout. There was drama,but the energy was low, dancing was less but overall the act was good. Longi felt Aman was a combination of 2 great personalities Amitabh Bachchan & Dilip Kumar. Longi liked Chetan`s entry, but later on he had a very casual manner,enthusiasm was good. Arunaji said for Shubhangi,”Rani aayi hai paplu nahin”,crystal clear moments,very good dancing. Shubhangi Atrey from Prriya’s team danced on `Salaam-e-ishq`. The performance was loved by all. She was the Queen of the evening.

WEEK 2 EPISODE 5

`Mera Wala Zamana`

The episode began with pressure on saas`, because in Week 1 the Bahus rocked the dance floor and won with a huge margin. The theme for this week was ‘Mera Wala Zamana’, wherein the Saas` danced on old iconic numbers and Bahus had to dance on todays popular numbers.

What did you miss?

The opening performance was by Jayati Bhatia on Chadti Jawani, which is also one of the old popular numbers on which Aruna Irani had danced. This performance set the episode in high spirits and was followed by some good and some average performances of Chaavi on `Chaliya Chaliya`, Prriya on `Jawani Janeman`, Amita on `Dekh Le`, Kamaleeka on `Laila O Laila` and lastly Shilpa on `Talli Ho Gayi`.

Welcome to the world of `Cheer Boys`

As a fun element cheer boys were introduced to cheer for both teams, they created a lot of excitement among the contestants and the judges. They made a classic entry with their pom poms. Aruna asks the cheer boys to remove their ganjis.

Fianl score

The man of the match was Amita – who scored the highest for the day. By the end of the episode, the competition was neck to neck with saases leading by 2 points on 64 and bahus were 62.

Best of the Week (Friday, August 29)

After four days filled with fun, power-packed performances, and drama, we take the audience through a Reality episode which delves in to the behind-the-scenes of the show. This episode reveals the real human beings behind the stars whom we see on screen every day. A must-watch episode which will definitely take you through a roller-coaster ride of drama and human emotions.

Episode 4

Final episode of the segment

This episode had two performances by each contestant. A duet with their respective saas/bahu and a group performance by each teams, three Saas` and three Bahus.

All set for a blast

Pratichee and Anchal performed on `Der Na Ho Jaaye`, Mahrru and Barkha performed on `Taal Se Taal Mila` and Reeta and Juhi on `Aaj Ki Raat`. For the group performance, the Saas team danced on `Show Me Your Jalwa` and the Bahu team performed on `Yeh Hai Jalwa`.

Drama Queens

This episode was laced with a lot of emotional scenes between the saas` and the bahus. Just before the group performance by the Saas team, the entire Bahu team go up on stage to wish them luck. Through out the day, Pratichee showed immense display of her feelings regarding this show and how badly she wanted to be in the competition. Twice, she even broke into tears. Just before Reeta's performance, one of her fans, from the audience spoke to her and tells her how much she looks up to Reeta and how Reeta was the winner for her.

The final verdict

As Longi and Aruna had predicted in the beginning of this episode the Bahu team won the segment. The final battle for Week One was won by the Bahu team with a whopping score of 290 points while the Saas team was at 236 points.

Episode 3

`Hum chale saath saath`

In this episode, the contestants pair up with their respective family member who has come to help them perform a duet.

Worth a watch

Akshay Anand and Mahrru Shaikh danced to a very peppy `Dekha Jo Tujhe Yaar`, Roma and Barkha on `Move Your Body`, Anchal and Mazher on `Ankhiyon Se Goli Mare`, Reeta and Sonia on `Piya Piya and Pratichee` and Sharad on `Pappu Can't Dance saala`.

World of Romance

The show stealers for this episode were definitely Juhi and Hussain with a romantic performance on `Mere Haath Mein` from `Fanaa`. The judges were extremely pleased with the performance. Longie even felt that amongst the great on screen couples Juhi and Hussain's names should be added. Everybody applauded the great magic and chemistry.

Episode 2

United we stand

The 6 primary contestants get their family to dance on their behalf, as per the format of the show. This episode witnessed some rocking performances by the relatives who had come in to help the six contestants. The points scored with the help of the family are added on to the total team scores.

The chosen numbers

Hussain performed on `Bachna Ae Haseeno`, Sharad Kelkar on `Singh Is Kinng`, Sonia Singh on `Honth Raseeley`, Akshay Anand on `Mast Kalandar`, Roma Bali on `Silsilay yeh Chahat Ka` and Mazher on `Khaike Paan benaraswala`.

A big blow

Akshay was dancing to the song "Mast Kalandar" and looked very confident. But just after 3-4 steps he blanked out and forgot his steps. He wanted to stop in the middle but Mahroo along with the Saas team encouraged him to continue dancing because according to the format of the show you cannot be given a second chance. Akshay did a good try and started picking up again but he failed to get back into the rhythm. At the end of the performance Longi appreciated Akshay for his confidence and also said that its only possible for a seasoned performer like him to maintain his composure at such a crisis. Even Arunaji felt that what happened to Akshay was very normal and can happen to any performer. But it was really brave of him to keep on performing.

Episode 1

On a Different Battlefield

The much hyped show started with a bang when all the 15 saas - bahu jodis together made their appearance. Three jodis performed and 12 jodis cheered them, as well as jeered at them amid much fan fare and `tu tu main main`.

The three saas - bahu jodis who performed first are Pratichee Mishra and Anchal Dwivedi from `Saath Phere`, Reeta Bhaduri and Juhi parmar from `Kumkum` and Mahrru Shaikh and Barkha Bisht Sengupta from `Doli Saaja Ke`. Anchor, Karan Mehra, took every one through the show format for the next 11 weeks to come and judges Aruna Irani and Longinus Fernandes did justice to the performances by giving the contestants their deserving marks and sharing their valuable comments with all the 30 contestants. Pratichee performed on `Aaja Nachley`, Mahrru on `It's Rocking`, Reeta on `Tuk Tuk Dekhe`, Juhi on `Nimbooda` Nimbooda, Anchal on `U.P. Bihar Lootne` and Barkha on `Hum KO Aaj kal Hain`.

And here are the `show-stoppers`

At the end of the first episode, the Bahu Team won by 5 marks with a total score of 66 points, while the Saas team ended with 61 points. The highest scorer from the saas team was Reeta Bhaduri, with 25 points, while Juhi was the highest scorer and the most loved performance of the day from the Bahu team with 26 points. Reeta's performance got a standing ovation from every one! The show was laced with the a lot of heartfelt moments like the one where Juhi runs up to the stage to hug Reeta just before Reeta's performance. Barkha was appreciated a lot by both the judges for her performance on Humko Aaj Kal Hain, as well as for her hour-glass figure.
